High Beginner to Advanced Spanish Classes - ONLINE

As an above-beginner, our rolling admission policy allows you to start your Spanish classes anytime! Just fill out the form below and we will send you level-appropriate Spanish class recommendation. If you see in our reply a Spanish class that suits your needs, you are welcome to attend a trial. If this class works for you and you decide to enroll, the trial will be considered your first class. If not, no problem! There will be no charge and we will look into other options based on your feedback. .

Total Beginner: I have never taken Spanish or I have completely forgotten everything that I learned and I need to start again.

I can conjugate ser & estar without too much difficulty but I’m not very comfortable with regular verbs. I can understand and formulate very simple sentences such as introducing myself, my profession, nationality, etc.

I can conjugate ser, estar and the present tense of regular verbs without too much difficulty but I’m not very comfortable with irregular verbs. I can’t hold a conversation but can ask and answer short questions such as directions, ordering in a restaurant, introductions, etc.

I am very comfortable using ser, estar and the present tense of regular in conversation and fairly comfortable with irregular verbs but need to work on it. I can hold a short conversation using complete sentences in predictable situations such as, getting directions, ordering in a restaurant, introductions etc.

I can speak with relative confidence about day-to-day topics in the present tense and a bit in the past tense but get stuck on the irregular verbs.

I am comfortable speaking in the present and pretty comfortable speaking in the past tense but it’s not always 100% accurate especially the difference between the imperfect and the preterito.

I am very comfortable using all of the indicative tenses in conversation but I may need some review and the subjunctive is still a mystery to me! I can carry on a conversation about a wide range of topics but I still make little mistakes.

I am very comfortable using all of the indicative tenses and fairly confident (50%-75% accuracy) speaking in the more complex tenses in conversation (subjunctive, conditional, past conditional, etc.), but may need some review as well as work on improving overall conversational skills.

I am able to use all tenses with 75%-100% accuracy in conversation and am able to talk about any topic although I lack sophisticated vocabulary and still make little mistakes.

ABOUT OUR CLASSES

At ABC we’re introducing thousands of people to a way of learning languages that’s surprisingly fun and effective. You will be guided to speak from the very first lesson while our instructors arm you with the tools you need to understand and absorb the language. Student goals range from wanting to learn some basics in preparation for a trip abroad to long-term language learners. With a maximum of only ten students per class, you are guaranteed plenty of personal attention as you conquer fundamentals to advanced skills of your chosen language.

ABOUT TOTAL BEGINNER CLASSES

Our Total Beginner classes are designed for students with little or no background in the language. To get a base in the language, we recommend starting with 12 weeks. 6- and 8-week enrollment options are ideal for students who want to get a taste of the language, are preparing for a trip or just want to pick up some basics and have a limited timeframe. At the end of any enrollment, you always have the option of adding additional weeks to your program and continuing in your class as it progresses. ABOUT BEGINNER 2 TO ADVANCED CLASSES

At ABC, we offer a rolling admission for above-beginner students of all levels. To find out what classes we have at your level, select the language of your choice and either fill out our self-evaluation form or choose from one of the above-beginner classes posted. Once you choose a class that fits your level and schedule, you are welcome to come any time for your first/trial class. If all goes well, this will be considered your first class and you may choose from one of our enrollment packages. If the class is not the right level, you will not be charged and we will do our best to find you a more suitable class.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that the steps to successfully learning a new foreign language are much the same for every student, while the path to learning is highly individualized. With that in mind, ABC instructors have the freedom to address each group’s needs and learning patterns so that, while following a logical progression, each class goes at a pace that works for you, the students.

We also know that your process won’t be helped by pressure, tests, or requirements that you ”keep up” with everybody else. That’s why we have created an environment where language learners proceed at their own pace, where each student discovers his or her own path to proficiency. If you find yourself in a group that isn’t working for your learning needs, come talk to us! The staff and teachers are here to help you every step of the way. All you need to do is stay on your path and your efforts will be rewarded with success.

Total Beginner Mandarin Classes - ONLINE

The focus of our classes is on practical spoken Mandarin taught in pinyin, with some simplified characters included for reference. ABC's communicative method means students will be speaking and interacting in Mandarin throughout the lesson, while engaging in conversation and lively interaction all in Chinese.
EVENING MANDARIN CLASSES - ONLINE program Lessons meet once or twice a week for 1.5 hours. (Minimum 2 / Maximum 6 students). *Lessons are shortened to 1 hour if enrollment is less than 3 students.

I can ask and answer basic questions, know numbers/dates/time, can compare things, and know high frequency verbs and can use them in sentences.

I know vocabulary for daily activities, items (clothing etc.) , directions (location), and can describe people and things (physical attributes, colors, etc.).

I can speak about most conversational topics, but I get tripped up when trying to use complex grammatical structures.

I can converse with relative confidence about day-to-day topics and can use some complex structures, but I need to increase the types of conversation topics with which I feel comfortable speaking.

I am able to talk about most conversational topics and some professional topics although I lack sophisticated vocabulary and still make mistakes with colloquialisms.
